Understand and Participate in the Federal Process

Federal Energy Regulatory Commission

Because this is a long drawn out process, people assume that that they will always have the chance to have a say. Not so! This is a legal proceeding and just like a court case. There are specific times when comments are officially accepted and deadlines for input on which issues will be considered and what studies will be done. It is very important that people get involved very early in the process or their input will be left out. The scoping meetings were April 9, 2008 and the following 30 day comment period is your ONLY chance to be heard by FERC and raise any issues.

Comments must be to FERC by May 13, 2008.

Support the Local Governments in their Opposition

Local Governments

We have the power, as local communities, to guide our own destinies. We must use that power through our County Commissions, Mayors. Individually, both counties and most cities have passed resolutions opposing Hook Canyon. They have also done so collectively, as the Bear Lake Regional Commission.

You need to show support for this strong statement and encourage them ALL to take similar official stand. Send electronic or written concerns to: County Commissioners City and Town Mayors
